Two Officials, Fourteen Militants Pass Away in Attacks in Pakistan
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, militants struck a police station and a customs office in the Dera Ismail Khan district late Tuesday night. The attacks killed one policeman and one customs officer, while two police personnel and another customs official sustained injuries, according to a local police emergency control official.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan, the Counter Terrorism Department conducted operations in the Quetta and Barkhan districts, killing a total of 14 militants. Six were killed in Barkhan, and eight were neutralized in Quetta, where three policemen were also injured, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reported.
Pakistan has seen a recent increase in militant attacks, particularly targeting security forces and government facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. On Tuesday, a suicide vehicle bomb in Bajaur district killed 14 security personnel and a child, while security forces killed 12 militants in response.
