Fidan Participates in Regional Talks on US-Israel War on Iran

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan participates in a foreign ministers’ meeting with counterparts from Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia in Islamabad on Sunday.

As stated by diplomatic sources, the discussions center on the escalating situation in the Middle East, marking one month since the conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran began. Fidan is in Pakistan for a two-day visit focusing on regional diplomatic efforts.

The meeting occurs amid ongoing initiatives by Türkiye, Pakistan, and Egypt to facilitate a resolution to the conflict. Reports indicate that US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, which started on February 28, have resulted in over 1,300 fatalities.

Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and countries hosting US military forces, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states. These retaliatory strikes have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted both global markets and international aviation, according to multiple reports.
